KILDRUM Tigers have confirmed that Glenn Bovaird has been appointed as the club’s new senior team manager.

The St Johnston-based side recently announced that it had withdrawn from the Ulster Senior League after thirteen years as an Intermediate club. In the coming months, the Tigers will seek entry into the Donegal League ahead of the 2014/15 season.

Kildrum had appointed Derryman Colm Cassidy as manager and had entered the USL season, only to pull out at the eleventh hour.

Now, the Station Road Park outfit has turned to hometown man Bovaird, who captained the club to a USL League title in 2007, and a League Cup and Knockalla Caravans Cup double in the 2006/07 season.

The former Omagh Town player is expected to adopt a player-manager role.

His appointment was confirmed via a brief statement on the club’s official Facebook page on Friday.

His backroom team will be formed by Johnny Tinney, Paul Toland and Russell Porter.
