GLENFIN retained their Division 1 status with a dominant second half display against Buncrana in O’Donnell Park on Saturday.
Glenfin’s goals came from Mark McGinty, Daniel McGlynn and Gerard Ward while the Buncrana three pointer came from John Campbell.
The sides were level at 1-3 apiece at the break but Buncrana could only hit three points in the second half compared to Glenfin’s 2-4 as they kicked ahead early after the restart with both sides staying in their respective divisions.
A position Glenfin would have been disappointed to be in before the season began, they stayed in the relegation play-off with a massive win over Kilcar in Towney on the last day of the season, needing a win to avoid automatic relegation.
Buncrana had an equally impressive show of final day heroics as they beat the unbeaten Glenswilly in Páirc Naomh Columba to ensure themselves of the third place in Division 2 and the reward of this play-off game.
