Glenfin hold on for important win over St Eunan’s

Glenfin 0-15 St Eunan’s 1-11

Glenfin held on for a one point win to take an important two points against St Eunan’s in Páirc Taoibhoige.

The home side had a great start with four points in the first ten minutes but Eunan’s hit back with two of their own through young pair Luke McGuinness and Oisin Scanlon, while Aaron McGlynn kicked his second score for the hosts.

Odhran McGlynn and Shaun Ward also kicked their second scores of the game as ‘Eunan’s didn’t score after Pauric Boyle’s 16th minute point as they trailed 0-8 to 0-4 at the break.

Ward’s two point free had Frank McGlynn’s men five ahead but an Eoin McGeehin penalty made it a one point game and a nervy final ten minutes as Glenfin had Daniel Marley and Ross Ó Mearlaigh black carded, with Aaron Deeney sin binned for the visitors.

Luke McGlynn and Odhran McGlynn took their tally to three points at Glenfin led by three, but when McGeehin kicked his fourth point and McGuinness added another in added time, it set up a tense finale.

But the home side held on for the victory and a second win of the season.
