ESTABLISHED in 1997, the Glencar Inn is proudly showcasing their new refurbishment this weekend, as they host a launch night tonight. Whether you are after some live entertainment, or a quiet pint and a bit of craic with friends or family, all tastes are catered for here at your local pub.
Winners of Newstalks Ulster’s best local pub and Black & White Best Newcomer, the Glencar Inn knows how to please it’s customers, with a wide variety of drinks on offer as well as an off licence next door. Offering an extensive range of beers, wines and spirits as well as the gluten free beers, low calorie options and everything in between, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
‘Take your pick’ happens every Thursday night, a charity fundraiser where you could win some cash for a much loved local charity as well as winning a jackpot of E2900 euro for yourself.
They have Regular live music from local artists every weekend too many to name but for example of their great line up this weekend they music by Martin Cuffe & guests on Friday night, Hugo McLaughlin & El Dorado on Saturday night – plenty to keep you entertained plus not to forget the famous Karaoke with DJ Paul on Sunday night.
Going above and beyond for their loyal customers, a complimentary lift home will be waiting on you after the night is over, if you are stuck for a taxi, or have decided to leave the car. Call down and support the Glencar Inn soccer team, who are preparing to start back in the Saturday league this year, hoping to remain champions after their victory last season.
If soccer isn’t your thing, they also are home to a darts team, who will represent Donegal in the All Ireland next month in Ennis.
Martin Gibbons has been the Manager since the bar opened in 1997, and has seen it change over the years. He said the new refurbishment has brought a ‘whole new look’ to the bar, and hopes all the customers enjoy the new setting. “We are really looking forward to the launch tonight, and seeing our customers enjoy the new refurbishment, we think they’ll like it.
“We will be open 20 years in November and without the customers we wouldn’t be where we are now. We have had so many loyal customers over the years and we would like to thank them all. We would also like to thank the owners, the Dorrian family, for their continued support.”
