Gilmore stars as Setanta cruise past Ballinascreen

Ballinascreen 1-10 Setanta 3-13

Gerard Gilmore scored 1-9 as Setanta cruised past Ballinascreen and into the Ulster Intermediate semi-final.

Ballinascreen hit the first four points of the match but Setanta replied with 1-3 with Josh McGee Cronolly scoring the goal.

Setanta moved in front and Ballinascreen were then reduced to 14 players when Ronan O’Kane was shown a straight red card.

Ballinascreen hit the first two points of the second half but then Gerard Gilmore landed a brilliant goal for Setanta.

Niall Doyle (Ballinascreen) and Mark Callaghan (Setanta) were sent off before Cormac Gough scored a consolation three-pointer for Ballinascreen.

Oisin Marley added a third goal for the men from the Cross but while it was a comfortable win, they will be concerned about an injury picked up by Declan Coulter late on.
