Getting that Natural Look

We are all searching for that natural, no fuss make up look from time to time and recently Cheryl Cole showed us all up and showcased her natural beauty in more images released from her new L’Oreal Paris skincare campaign.

The former Girls Aloud star, 30, has embraced a more natural look as she goes foundation free for her role as spokesmodel for the brand’s new Skin Perfection Skincare.

The new L’Oreal Skin Perfection claims to work to perfect your skin – it tightens pores, gives luminosity & improves skin texture. It has all the skincare benefits you want before you put on your makeup.

Even though Cheryl claimed to be stripped back and wearing just mascara and Magic Touch Instant Blur cream on her face, I beg to differ. She is an absolute beauty but the natural look, while it looks natural takes more work than that! See the guide below on how to achieve it!

For the natural look, the tan really needs to be scraped back to a bare minimal natural look. Get this with a tinted moisturiser instead of a full on tan.

Apply two coats for a gorgeous glow. My favourite or the minute is Karora Gradual Bronze, €15, it gives a glow without looking fake or orange. Lashes are the best way to achieve a natural look without having to wear a lot of make up. I do not mean false, plastic lashes but instead a natural set of semi permanent lash extensions.

These individual lashes are sported by celebrities like Cheryl Cole, in fact Kim Kardashian wears them like the rest of us wear mascara. Lash extensions are glamorous, they are the beauty accessory that allows women who have not been blessed with long lashes achieve a natural, eye-enhancing look.

So they are the perfect fix for a make up free day. Lashes are available from Sculpt Studio, Letterkenny €55 for a full glamourous set. When it comes to Make Up, less is definitely more when it comes to the natural look. For that barely there look, swap your foundation for a BB cream, my favourite of the minute is Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream.

This BB Cream promises a flawless healthy complexion and it really does even out skin tone, which is impressive because it feels really light and it stays put quite well for me. Apply just like your foundation, but it gives a lighter coverage. If you want a bit more cover than the sheerness of BB cream then use it as a base but buff some of your usual foundation lightly all over your face.

Powder lightly all over for staying power, apply some blush to give to a cheeky glow and finish with a natural gloss. You do not need eye shadow for this natural look, opt instead for lashes only.

Hair for a natural look is deceiving; it looks so undone but takes some time to actually do! Sounds like a dilemma but it can be achieved easily. After washing, blast your hair so it is damp, but too not wet.

Apply some root booting, volumising mousse throughout; avoid too much mousse at the roots as it will make it greasy. Scrunch it up and blast the hair dryer on it again for a simple but tousled look.
