Gary Merritt is the newest Donegal recruit to join Strabane Athletic.
The experienced forward joins Raymond Foy’s side in the Ballymena & Provincial Intermediate League having most recently played with Milford United.
Merritt scored a hat-trick in the promotion/relegation play-off against Bonagee United last season to draw 3-3 as Milford won on penalties to earn promotion to the Premier Division.
Strabane Athletic manager Raymond Foy said on the signing:
“To be able to bring Gary to Strabane is fantastic for the club and our current team. He had a number of options including clubs within the championship but he felt that Strabane was the right move for him at this time.
“Since coming in it is obvious the qualities and threat he will bring to our front line. He’s someone who has played senior football with Finn Harps and he will bring a new energy to our dressing room.”
