A MAN arrested yesterday at a commemoration in Meenbanad in connection with the murder of Denis Donaldson has been released without charge.
Gary Donnelly, an Independent Councillor on Derry City and Strabane District Council was released this afternoon following his arrest at the commemoration of the centenary of the Meenbanad Train Ambush.
A second man in his thirties who was also arrested remains in Garda custody. Gardai are investigating the murder of Donaldson which took place at Cloghercor, Doochary, in April, 2006.
A Spokesperson for the Garda Press Office said: “The investigation is ongoing.
