Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a body of a man in his 70s in Carndonagh.
The incident was reported yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí said foul play is not suspected at this time.
A file is due to be prepared in accordance with the Coroners Acts.
Gardai have warned that they have been made aware of a video circulating which is believed to relate to the incident.
A spokesperson for Donegal Gardaí said, “A tragic incident occurred in the Carndonagh area today.
“We have been made aware that a video in connection with the incident is in circulation.
“We urge anybody who may receive the video or who is already in possession of it to delete it immediately and not to share it out of respect and compassion for the family involved.”
