Gardai urge caution on Donegal roads as hedge cutting season begins

As the hedge cutting season officially begins on Sunday, September 1st, all road users in Donegal are being urged to exercise extra caution, especially when travelling along the county’s many rural roads.

The annual trimming of hedges and roadside vegetation is essential for maintaining road safety, but it also introduces new risks that motorists and other road users need to be aware of.

In a statement issued, Gardai in Donegal highlighted the potential hazards.

The statement read: “There will be a visible increase in this type of large machinery in operation along the roadsides over the coming weeks. Please drive with due care and remain alert at all times.”
