Today, ( Wednesday, March 4), Gardaí will attend at the Coffee Loft in Ballybofey from 10.30am to 11.30am. If you wish to test your cúpla focal, please pop in and have a chat ‘as Gaeilge’. Everybody is welcome.
As the proverb goes – ‘Is fearr Gaeilge bhriste ná Béarla cliste’. This traditional ‘seanfhocal’ encourages people to speak the Irish language, even if they are not fluent, rather than relying on polished English. It promotes effort over perfection in language learning.
We encourage everyone to get involved in the ‘Seachtain Na Gaeilge’ events locally regardless of whether they are a fluent Irish speaker, if they haven’t spoken Irish since they were at school or if they are just starting to learn the Irish language.
