Gardaí to host ‘Go Purple’ coffee morning tomorrow

A ‘Go Purple’ coffee morning will take place tomorrow in Letterkenny Garda Station in aid of local domestic violence support services.

The event takes place from 11am to 1pm and is open to the public.

Many Gardaí across the Division will be wearing a purple ribbon on their uniform tomorrow in support of local domestic violence services and in support of victims of domestic violence/abuse.

Anyone who is suffering as a result of domestic violence/abuse is urged to contact gardaí 24/7 at Letterkenny on (074) 9167100, Buncrana (074)9320540,

Ballyshannon (071) 9858530 or Milford (074) 9153060.

“Always call 999 or 112 in the case of an emergency. We will provide a listening ear and advice. We can meet you at a neutral location or at the Garda Station.

Details of external support services available may be found on our Facebook page. We urge anybody who is suffering domestic abuse to reach out for help because help is there for you,” said a garda spokesperson.
