GARDA Commissioner Drew Harris has praised gardaí in Donegal for the “exemplary” way they carried out their duties in very difficult circumstances following the Creeslough tragedy.
In his forward in An Garda Síochána’s annual report, ‘100 Years of Keeping People Safe’, Garda Commissioner Harris recalled the explosion in Creeslough just over one year ago, which claimed the lives of 10 people.
“On October 7, Gardaí in Donegal performed exemplary duty as part of an incredible combined effort by emergency services to save lives during the tragic events in Creeslough, as well as support the injured, the bereaved, and the devastated local community,” said Garda Commissioner Harris.
“Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the 10 people who lost their lives as a result of the tragedy of that day.”
