Gardaí investigating death of male (50) discovered in Churchill

GARDAI were due to hold a press conference this evening (Tuesday) where they are expected to appeal for help as part of their investigation into the death of Churchill man, Kieran Callaghan.

The press conference was due to begin at 4.30pm. Gardai in Milford are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a 50-year-old male at a house in Roshin, Churchill, at approximately 1.30pm on Sunday, July 7.

The State Pathologist has completion a post mortem yesterday and further tests and results are awaited. Following consultation with the State Pathologist, Gardai are treating the death as suspicious at this time pending test results and further investigation.

Gardai are appealing to the public in tracing the whereabouts and last movements of Kieran Callaghan from Roshin between Thursday, July 4, and Sunday at 1.30pm.

He was last seen in the Churchill area of Letterkenny at approximately 6pm on July 5. Mr Callaghan, who is understood to have been a part-time bus driver at Glenveagh National Park and a father-of-four, is described as being 5’10” in height with grey hair and of thin build.
