Gardaí investigate crash at Harvest rally

GARDAÍ are investigating a crash that occurred at the Harvest Mini Stages Rally over the weekend when two spectators were injured.

The two men, aged in their 60s and 40s, were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to be treated for their injuries.

A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of an incident at a sporting event in Falcarragh, Co. Donegal on Saturday the 11th November 2023.

“The incident occurred at approximately 12:30pm when a car struck two individuals.

“The individuals, both men aged in their 60s and 40s, were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be serious but non-life threatening.

“No other injuries have been reported. Investigations are ongoing.”

Meanwhile The Donegal Motor Club is urging people not to share footage of the incident that has been circulating on social media and messaging apps.

In a statement the club wished those injured a full and speedy recovery, and paid tribute to the emergency services, marshals and officials who attended the scene.
