GARDAI are continuing to investigate the a hit-and-run near Bundoran at the weekend.
Jo McSherry found husband Alan (48) dead on the roadside just outside Bundoran just after 5am on Sunday.
Mr McSherry was walking the two miles from the seaside town to his home in the townland of Boyannagh when he was hit by a car. Gardai found car parts at the scene.
The couple moved to Leitrim from Merseyside around 15 years ago after visiting Bundoran in a camper van.
They were well-known around Bundoran. Mrs McSherry had worked at the a local adventure centre whilst her husband did part-time maintenance work.
He had been in the Bridge Bar on Saturday night.
The head of the traffic corps in Donegal, Inspector Michael Harrison, urged the driver of the car to come forward.
He also asked anyone who travelled on the Newtown Road near Bundoran on Saturday night or in the early hours of yesterday morning to contact them at Ballyshannon Garda Station on 071 9858530.
