GARDAI were called to this morning’s monthly meeting of Donegal County Council which was due to take place in the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny from 11am.
Mayor, Cllr Jack Murray adjourned the meting for an hour and said they had an issue to deal with before the meeting could get under-way.
Members of the Gardai are currently outside the hall and it is understood that they are investigating alleged threats made against a number of councillors earlier this morning.
The party whips are currently in a meeting to decide how to proceed and it is unclear if the meeting will resume at 12.30pm.
