Gardaí are calling on witnesses following a serious traffic collision that took place yesterday morning near Inver.
The incident, involving two vehicles, occurred shortly before 9 am on the N56.
An elderly woman in her 80s was transported to Sligo University Hospital with serious injuries.
Additionally, a man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The section of the N56 where the accident occurred remains closed as investigations continue.
Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision, particularly those who were on the road between 8:30 am and 9 am, to come forward.
Individuals with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, are especially encouraged to assist.

The weekend also saw tragedy on Donegal roads with the death of a teenager in a crash in Inishowen on Saturday night.
Sixteen-year-old Kian Dawson, who had travelled from Derry with a friend, was a front-seat passenger in a car that lost control and collided with a wall near Cross, Quigley’s Point at 11:15 pm.
Kian tragically died at the scene, while the driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for emergency care.
Gardaí are also appealing for witnesses to this incident.
