Gardaí have issued a fresh warning over the use of scramblers after receiving reports that they were being used on private property and areas of conservation.
The warning comes after gardaí in Milford received a report at the weekend about scramblers/quads being used in the areas of Thorr, Dunlewey and Glenveagh.
A garda spokesperson said: “We wish to advise the users of these types of machines that it is an offence to use them in areas of conservation because of the damage that they could cause. Rangers patrol these areas regularly.
“The quad/scrambler users in question may not have been aware that they are not allowed in these areas. They also may not have been aware that they were on private property. We appeal to everybody to always be mindful of where they are and to be respectful.”
