Corofin 2-13 Gaoth Dobhair 1-12
Gaoth Dobhair’s dreams of reaching the All-Ireland Club final came to an end today as they lost out to Corofin in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Corofin had the better of the first quarter and Gary Sice’s goal helped them into a 1-4 to 0-2 lead.
Kevin Cassidy replied with a fine goal for Gaoth Dobhair and they reduced their deficit to one point.
However, the Galway men finished the half strongly and Martin Farragher’s goal saw them lead by 2-7 to 1-5 at half-time.
Gaoth Dobhair battled well in the third quarter and they were back within three points by the 46th minute.
Cassidy kicked the next point but that was as good as it got for the Donegal champions as Corofin struck three points in as many minutes to pull clear.
The Connacht champions closed the game out and they advance to the All-Ireland Final on St Patrick’s Day, while Gaoth Dobhair’s adventure is now at an end.
