Gaoth Dobhair edge out St Eunan’s in O’Donnell Park

St Eunan’s 0-9 Gaoth Dobhair 1-7

Gaoth Dobhair caused an upset in O’Donnell Park today as they edged out St Eunan’s in the Donegal Senior Football Championship.

Eoin de Búrca hit an early goal for Gaoth Dobhair and they were 1-2 to 0-3 ahead after 15 minutes.

However, Conor O’Donnell Jnr hit three points to help ‘Eunan’s draw level by the break.

Scores were hard earned in the second half but Daire Ó Baoill nudged the Magheragallon side ahead again in the 46th minute.

The sides swapped points after that before Stephen ‘Donna’ McFadden pushed Gaoth Dobhair two ahead in the 59th minute.

Conor O’Donnell Snr reduced the deficit but St Eunan’s couldn’t find a leveller and had to settle for a first defeat of the championship.
