Gaoth Dobhair had a great start to Act Two and moved into the lead after a two-pointer from Daire Ó Baoill.

MacCumhaills kept going and corner-back Ruairi Callaghan was in the right position to score two goals while Fintan Griffin pushed the Twin Towns side ahead in the 48th minute.

Ethan Harkin converted a two-point free before Oisin Gallen hobbled off for MacCumhaills.

The Twin Towns side tried to find a leveller but they couldn’t get and Domhnall Mac Giolla Bhríde killed off the contest in the 63rd minute.

Gaoth Dobhair go straight through to the quarter-finals and will have week off while Downings will face Glenswilly in the preliminary quarter-finals next week.
