Donegal held off a late fightback from Cavan at Kingspan Breffni Park today as they picked up their second win of the NFL Division 2 campaign
Cavan took an early lead but Donegal then struck four points on the trot with Oisin Gallen and Ciaran Thompson to the fore.
Further scores from Gallen and Patrick McBrearty had Donegal 0-8 to 0-4 ahead at the break.
Cavan hit the first three points of the second half before Gallen and Jeaic Mac Ceallabhuí hit important points.
Donegal moved fouur ahead with ten minutes to go but Cavan kept battling, and scored three on the bounce.
Gallen and Paddy Lynch swapped late frees but the Breffni side couldn’t find a leveller.
