For the second year in-a-row, Oisin Gallen scored four points from play in the first half of the Ulster Final.
Gallen played a huge part in the 2024 success and he was razor sharp again on Saturday.
Barry McCambridge struggled to handle him and eventually Armagh had to switch Paddy Burns across.
Gallen didn’t get the same supply in the second half but his team found a way to win an epic
“I was happy with the first half,” said Gallen after the match.
“It’s just a pity I couldn’t carry on in the second half.
“Paddy Burns is tight and he got very tight at the start of the second half.
“I started cramping up after that and I was trying to carry on but you have to make a smart decision and get the fresh boys on.
“You have to be selfless and get off the pitch.”
It was a topsy-turvy contest that could have went either way but Donegal showed great character to dig out the result.
“We never seem to make it easy us and Armagh.
“Obviously we should have seen it out in normal time and we had to claw it back in extra-time.
“But we’re just delighted to get over the line.”
