Oisin Gallen came on for his championship debut against Tyrone on Saturday, and Bonner was pleased with the Sean MacCumhaill’s youngster.
The 18-year-old is only back from a shoulder injury, but recovered in time to come on as a sub for Niall O’Donnell in Breffni, and he set up Hugh McFadden’s point.
Gallen – known affectionately as ‘Farrah’ – could feature more in the weeks and years to come.
“I’m delighted to get him back in. Over the last few weeks he has been showing well,” said Donegal manager Declan Bonner.
“Oisin is going to be one of these players for the future. He had a good league campaign and he’s just back in and it gives us more options.”
