Gaeil Fhánada 1-13 Termon 0-14
GAEIL Fhánada rallied to cause somewhat of an upset to beat Termon and reach the quarter-finals with a two point win in Páirc Uí Shiadhail.
It was a close game throughout, with no more than two points ever separating the sides, but Darren McElwaine’s goal before half-time was important for the hosts as the two sides went in level at the break, 1-6 to 0-9.
Anthony Grant hit three great points in the first half for the away side along with a couple of Steve McElwaine frees, while Liam McGrenaghan hit two of his six frees in the first half along with another two Oisin Shiels points.
Termon took the lead twice in between Fanad doing the same twice as it was still level coming into the final five minutes.
But Liam McGrenaghan kicked two frees, one in stoppage time, to see them over the line and into the last eight.
