YESTERDAY’S Division One reserve clash between Naomh Conaill and St Michael’s in Glenties was halted after a search and rescue helicopter landed on the pitch.
The aircraft landed at Davey Brennan Memorial Park in Glenties to pick up a local sergeant on its way to a major search operation in Glencolmcille.
As a result, the senior clash was delayed for up to half an hour.
A tourist had been reported missing earlier in the day after her bicycle had been left at Glen Head on Friday.
However, a number of volunteer teams with the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team (DMRT) where stood-down after the woman returned to collect her bike yesterday afternoon.
A DMRT spokesperson praised the alertness of the member of the public who noticed that the woman had not returned after her walk.
