Future NowDoc services under discussion

HSE

The HSE has moved to allay people’s fear with regard to possible changes to the NowDoc service in Donegal being discussed at present.

The service is operating as noirmal while possible changes are discussed.

“The HSE would like to reassure patients and their families that the NoWDOC service is operating as normal.

In November 2013 the North West GPs entered into a commercial agreement with Caredoc Ltd, to manage the GP out of hours services in Donegal, South Leitrim and North Roscommon on their behalf.

The HSE, General Practitioners and Caredoc are in discussions regarding the future organisation of the out of hours service to ensure an ongoing, quality service is delivered. In recent weeks these discussions have been chaired by an independent facilitator as agreed by all parties in order to progress matters

The GPs and Caredoc have indicated their intention to submit a proposal regarding GP deployment in the GP out of hours service.

To date, the HSE has not had sight of any proposals, therefore it would be premature to comment further on the specific details at this time.”
