Funeral to take place on Friday of man who died in farm tragedy

A Service of Thanksgiving will take place on Friday for Robert John Roulston, Moneymore Little, Newtowncunningham who died in a farm accident in Newtowncunningham on Monday.

Gardaí and other emergency services attended the scene of the fatal workplace accident at approximately 1pm on Monday.

Mr. Roulston, who was in his 60s,  was pronounced dead at the scene.

His sudden death has been met with great shock and sadness locally. Mr. Roulston was a highly respected and very popular member of the community.

His remains will repose at his home from 2pm tomorrow (Wednesday)  and also from 12pm on Thursday.

His funeral will leave from his home on Friday at 12.30pm for 1pm Service of Thanksgiving in Newtowncunningham Presbyterian Church followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard. 

Predeceased by his father Alan, Mr Roulston was the cherished son of Florence. He was the much loved husband of Susan, and father of Louise (Daniel), Helen and Emily; devoted grandfather of baby William. 

He will  be deeply missed by his brothers Keith (Patricia), George (Jayne), sisters Valerie (Colin), Alison (Wesley), Sylvia (John), nieces, nephews, his wider family circle neighbours and many friends.

Family time on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only, donations in lieu, if desired, to Irish Heart Foundation care of Terence McClintock Funeral Director.
