Fr Michael McCaughey, Parish Priest of Leckpatrick Parish, attended the scene of the tragedy on Friday morning.

He said it was a “very sad and distressing situation”.

“Kacper was a young man with his whole life in front of him,” Fr McCaughey told the Donegal News.

“The next few days will be difficult for his family.”

Fr McCaughey also acknowledged the emergency services and those who helped at the scene.

“It is very important to acknowledge the wonderful work that they did in such difficult conditions,” he said.

Mr Dudek’s Requiem Mass will take place in St Patrick’s Church, Murlog at 10.30am today followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.
