Funeral on Friday of Raphoe crash victim

THE funeral will take place on Friday of Theresa Hepburn (nee Peoples) following her tragic death in a road incident.

Ms Peoples died on Monday after being struck by a vehicle in Raphoe on March 2.

Formerly of the Mountain Top, Letterkenny, Ms Peoples will be laid to rest in New Leck cemetery following Requiem Mass in St Eunan’s Cathedral at 11am on Friday.

Meanwhile gardaí have renewed their appeal for information about the incident.

“At approximately 2.30pm on March 2 two vehicles collided on Guesthouse End Road in Raphoe. As a result of this collision, one vehicle lost control and collided with a pedestrian,” said a spokesperson.

“The female pedestrian, aged in her 50s, was seriously injured and was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital. She was later transferred to Tallaght University Hospital where she passed away on Monday March 7.

“Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this collision to contact them. Any person who was on Guesthouse End Road is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.

“Similarly, any road users who were travelling in the area and who may have camera (including dash cam) footage, is asked to make this available to Gardaí.

“Anyone with any information in relation to this incident should contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 916 7100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.”
