Funeral of woman who died following Inishowen collision to take place on Wednesday

THE woman who died following last week’s road traffic collision in Buncrana will be laid to rest on Wednesday.

Rose Byrne (80s), of 68A Mill Brae, Buncrana passed away in Letterkenny University Hospital yesterday after she sustained serious injuries in a collision in her hometown last Tuesday.

She was one of two pedestrians involved in a collision with a car on Main Street, Buncrana.

Ms Byrne’s remains will be reposing at her home from 8pm this evening, Monday, January 20.

Removal from there on Wednesday morning, January 22 at 9.30am to St. Mary’s Oratory, Buncrana for Requiem Mass at 10am followed by interment in Burt Cemetery.

Meanwhile, gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward.

“Road users who were travelling on Main Street, Buncrana, between 2 pm and 3 pm on Tuesday, January 14, are urged to contact gardaí if they have any information or dash-cam footage,” a spokesperson said.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074 932 0540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
