Funeral of Jimmy Coyle to take place tomorrow

THE funeral of the man who died after sustaining fatal injuries when he fell from a ladder in Letterkenny is to take place tomorrow.

The man has been named locally as James ‘Jimmy’ Coyle. He was 48 years old and was from a well-known family in the Glenwood Park area. He had been living in the Oldtown area of the town.

Mr Coyle died on Thursday from injuries he suffered in the accident at a property in Letterkenny. Gardai were called to the scene. The body of Mr Coyle was removed to Letterkenny University Hospital morgue.

A garda spokesperson said an investigation into the sudden death of Mr Coyle is ongoing. Tributes have poured in online for Mr Coyle when news of his sudden death emerged, with many describing him as a “gentle giant” and “true gentleman”.

Mr Coyle will be laid to rest tomorrow following funeral mass in St Eunan’s Cathedral at 10am. In compliance with HSE and government restrictions, the wake and funeral is for family only. Funeral mass can be viewed on St Eunan’s Cathedral webcam.
