THE FUNERAL of well-known man Michael Jim Quinn of Rossbracken and formerly of Backhill, Meenagorey, Buncrana will take place tomorrow.

Buncrana Councillor Jack Murray paid tribute to ‘kind and unassuming’ Jim who saved many lives through his work.

“Jim was someone who was known by everyone,” said Cllr Murray.

“He would have saved many lives through his suicide prevention work and it was so understated.

“He would have been away quietly meeting people and not looking for any credit or praise but the work he done was so incredibly important.

“He was a very well-known character and was full of banter whenever you met him.

“He will be very sadly missed and it is a shock to everyone in the community.”

The funeral will take place on Wednesday morning, July 19 at St Mary’s Church, Cockhill with Requiem Mass at 11am.

Jim will be sorely missed by his brothers and sisters John, Patrick, Kathleen, Annette, Marie, Cindy and Martin; brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, wider family circle and his many valued friends and neighbours.

He was predeceased by his parents Jimmy and Kathleen and his nephews Gavin Duffy and Darren Quinn.
