By Dionne Meehan

JUST one short week after launching his book detailing his cancer diagnosis, treatment and prognosis, Daniel (Danny) Blair sadly passed away yesterday.

Danny passed away at his home at Upper Dore, Bunbeg.

The father of two was originally from Glasgow, but had made Donegal his home with his wife Anne and sons Joe and Anthony.

One of Danny’s main objectives in writing his book, ‘I, Daniel Blair’, was to give something back to those who took care of him throughout his illness.

With over €20,000 raised so far, Danny’s wish was for the proceeds to be equally split between the Donegal Hospice and Donegal Cancer Flights and Services.

He is survived by his wife Anne, his sons Joe and Anthony, his in-laws Eileen, Kathleen, Noreen, Jackie and Robert and his extended family and friends.

Danny is predeceased by his parents Hector and Nellie, brothers Con, Charlie and John and his sister Faye.

Danny’s funeral mass will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, September 19 in St. Mary’s Church Derrybeg at 12 noon with internment afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

The Funeral mass can be viewed live on Kieran Roarty Funeral Director’s Facebook Page at https://bit.ly/3DoIMm.
