The funeral of Lee Early will take place on Wednesday.
The Arranmore skipper tragically lost his life on in the early hours of Sunday morning. Mr Early (26) and another young man were in a car which went into the sea at Poolawaddy Pier shortly after 5am on Sunday morning.
The popular young man lived on the island and was the skipper of Arranmore Ferry.
The remains of Mr Early be in McGlynn’s Funeral Home in Dungloe today at 4.15pm. He will then be taken on his final sailing home to Arranmore at 5pm. His funeral will be held on Wednesday.
Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council Cllr. Nicholas Crossan offers his deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Lee Early, who lost his life as a result of a tragic accident at the pier at Poolawaddy on Árainn Mhór on Sunday morning.
Cllr. Crossan said: “I offer my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Lee Early and of course to the local RNLI which Lee was a volunteer with.
“It is such a tragedy for Lee’s family and for the entire community of Árainn Mhór. I have no doubt that the people of Árainn Mhór will come together to support and comfort the Early family at this very difficult time”.
