Funeral arrangements for popular priest

THE funeral will take place in Falcarragh on Thursday of popular local priest, Fr Paul Gallagher.
 
Chaplain to the town’s secondary school, Pobalscoil Chloich Cheannfhaola (PCC), Falcarragh, Fr Gallagher passed away at the Donegal Hospice on Monday. He was 54 years of age.
 
Fr Gallagher received his primary education in St Fíonan’s National School, Falcarragh, and his secondary education in PCC.
 
He began his training for the Priesthood at St Patrick’s College, Thurles (1998 – 2002) before going to St Patrick’s College, Maynooth (2002 – 2004).
 
From there, he was ordained in St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny, on June 20, 2004, by Bishop Philip Boyce, O.C.D.
 
Fr Gallagher was temporary Church Curate (CC) in both Glenties and Dunfanaghy in 2005.
 
The same year he was appointed Chaplain to St Columba’s Comprehensive School. He returned to Convoy as CC between 2008 and 2010, before moving on to Gaoth Dobhair and Tory island. 
 
Fr Gallagher was appointed Chaplain to PCC, Falcarragh, where he served from 2010 up until shortly before his death.
 
The removal of his remains will take place from the Hospice today (Tuesday) at 3pm, going to his family residence at Hilltop, Falcarragh.
 
Rosary on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights will be at 9pm. House private from after the Rosary until 10am in the morning and also on the morning of the Funeral. 
 
There will be all night Adoration in St Fíonan’s Church, Falcarragh from Wednesday evening until Thursday morning before the funeral.
 
Removal from there on Thursday at 11.30am for 12 noon Requiem Mass at St Fíonan’s Church, Falcarragh with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
