Now, his wife, Michelle, their two young sons, Oscar and Luke, and a third baby boy who is expected in September, are left to navigate life without him.

Since Mr O’Brien’s sudden passing, a great sense of shock and sadness has been expressed by those who knew him.

The Donegal man, who was Vice President of Operations at TM Grady Builders, was well-known in the area having played GAA with local team LA Geese.

Leading tributes, Mr O’Brien’s boss, Tim Grady said: “Damien was an extraordinary man, a leader, and a beloved member of our TM Grady Builder family, known for his dedication, warmth, wisdom, and professionalism.

“His contributions to our projects and his genuine care for our clients left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with him.”

Organising a fundraiser to help ease the financial burden on Mr O’Brien’s bereaved family, Mr Grady urged the public to dig deep.
