Fuel prices to increase from midnight

BAD news for motorists as fuel prices are set to increase after midnight tonight.

Petrol prices will go up by 6 cent per litre, while Diesel will see a 5 cent per litre rise.

It comes as a cut in excise duty ends at midnight.

In March last year, as fuel prices increased, the Government acted and cut the excise duty on fuel.

Two further excise duty increases will be introduced later this year with one coming into play at the start of September and a final increase will be imposed in October.
