Frustration for Harps as Longford score late leveller

Longford Town 1-1 Finn Harps

It was a night that promised much for Finn Harps but ended in disappointment for Kevin McHugh’s team.

Harps were on course to move into the play-off spots when Hans Mpongo gave them the lead against Longford Town in the 70th minute.

However, they couldn’t hold on as Emmanuel Oluwafemi equalised in the 87th minute.

The match in Bishopsgate finished in a draw, and the bad news for the Harps camp and their supporters was that fifth-placed Treaty United scored a 97th minute winner against UCD.

That means the Limerick side are now three points ahead of Harps in the fifth and final play-off spot.
