by Dionne Meehan

A LETTERKENNY woman is preparing to travel to Cambodia this October to volunteer with Mission Rabies.

Emer Tinney will be vaccinating dogs against this deadly disease in rabies hotspots throughout the country.

Setting up a GoFundMe page this week to help make her volunteer trip possible, Emer said every nine minutes one person dies from rabies.

“Four out of 10 of these deaths are children and 90 per cent of people who die from rabies are bitten by an affected dog.

“Vaccinating dogs against rabies will help lower all of these statistics.

“Please help me make this volunteer trip possible by donating.

“All donations of any size are greatly appreciated and make a much needed contribution to people and animals in need.”
