Friends organise fundraiser in tragic Aaron’s honour

BY C.J.MCGINLEY

“Live life to the max and enjoy every minute, ‘cause in a minute it could all be over”: these are the words of Copany native Aaron Scott who died by suicide on December 4th last.

Good looking, outgoing, fun loving and popular, Aaron’s death shocked and saddened the community of Donegal Town.

Friends of the 26-year-old are organising a table quiz and raffle in his honour to be held in Dom’s Pier 1 on May 10th 2013, all proceeds from which will go to Living Links, a charity which provides support to people bereaved by suicide.

Businesses from Donegal Town and further afield have kindly donated draw prizes including a two-night stay in the Connacht Hotel (formerly the Carlton Hotel) in Galway City and a Donegal jersey signed by the members of the 2012 All-Ireland winning team and a six-month gym membership including a Sunday lunch for two at the Mill Park Hotel.

Other prizes include 10 passes for Donegal Bay Waterbus; a speciality cake designed and produced by Jennie Deane; a photography session with Donegal-based photographer Christina J Irwin; hair and beauty vouchers from Pure Indulgence and Shapes n’ Hair; a Lidl hamper; Sunday lunch for two at the Solis Lough Eske Castle Hotel and Sunday lunch for two at Harvey’s Point Hotel.

Tickets for the draw cost €5 each. The winners will be announced at a fundraising table quiz to be held in Dom’s Pier 1, Donegal Town on May 10th starting at 9pm (four people per table, €10 per head).

A raffle will also be held on the night with many other great prizes up for grabs.

All proceeds from the draw, table quiz and raffle will go to Living Links.
