PRE-SEASON training is never fun no matter what the level of sport, but Letterkenny man Shane Blaney was glad to be able to put the boots back on this week as he begins working with his new club Sligo Rovers.
Blaney left Doncaster Rovers last summer, and is now looking to play games regularly and build up experience with Sligo.
“I’m looking forward to a fresh start with Sligo.
“Obviously I was over at Doncaster for two-and-a-half years and I didn’t get any game time in the league.
“I did get a handful of appearances in the cup competitions, but the opportunities just never came in the league.
“For me now it’s just about playing matches and building up experience.”
