A NEW and free online service designed to prevent shoppers from being scammed has been launched.
‘CheckMyLink’ is a security tool built by Munster Technological University Cyber Skills in collaboration with Scam Adviser, An Garda Síochána and other partners.
Shoppers are being advised to be vigilant while shopping online in the run up to Christmas.
The ‘CheckMyLink’ service is easy to use and it will help you to determine whether a website is likely to be legitimate or a scam.
It is very useful to have a way of checking that the website that you are buying from is authentic and that it is not infected with malware.
