Free seminar for businesses struggling with Brexit

DONEGAL Business Network will present a free lunchtime learning session this week for businesses struggling with Brexit.

The quick and easy 30-minute guide on navigating Customs’ Clearance will be followed by 15 minute question and answer session for businesses. The session is hosted by Conall Dunne and Clare McEldowney of Easy Customs and takes place this Wednesday at 1pm via Zoom.

Conall runs a chartered accountancy practice in Letterkenny and set up Easy Customs to help businesses and individuals manage the new customs’ procedures around Brexit. Clare is a qualified supply chain and customs manager, with over 20 years’ executive management experience across several blue-chip organisations both in Ireland and the United Arab Emirates.

During this short webinar, Conall and Claire will discuss how to deal with imports, exports and customs. The duo will focus on key issues affecting businesses, including how to avoid customs’ delays due to incorrect or inaccurate declarations when dealing with UK suppliers.

“This information session is designed to help businesses identify the steps they need to take to successfully get goods into the hands of UK customers,” says Conall.

“When it comes to navigating Brexit correctly, there are some very important questions that all businesses should ask themselves. For instance, do you have an EORI number? Have you considered INCO terms or reviewed your commodity codes? This lunchtime learning session is about helping business owners review and address these important questions. We’ll also be looking at key issues around rules of origin, registering for REX, Brexit supports, VAT requirements and other issues such as movement of people and currency.”

Clare added, “This event is for anyone trading in goods who is exporting to, or importing from Great Britain, particularly businesses in the Donegal / Derry area. Attendance is free but booking is essential.”
