One of the aims is to change the attitudes and behaviour of drivers, pedestrians, motorcyclists and cyclists.

The training will equip local residents in Raphoe on how to deliver the programme with people who work with community groups in a professional or a voluntary capacity.

Mr Alan McMenamin of Respond said: “thanks to Donegal County Council’s Road Safety Officer, Eamonn Brown, who put us in touch with the RSA to get this valuable training into the county for the first time in 2013.

“We are following up from work we have undertaken with the Mr Brown and we feel that this would be a fantastic opportunity for anyone concerned about road safety issues to learn more and develop a better awareness of the factors involved.

Residents in Castlegrove Raphoe have put in a lot of work in increasing awareness in the area, and in supporting this, Respond is confident that this is a positive addition to the measures already in place.”

The training will take place on both nights from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at the Respond! Community Building, Castlegrove, Raphoe.

Places are limited to a maximum of 20 participants.
