NEWLY ordained Fr Shaun Doherty is to celebrate Mass in Letterkenny for the first time this month.
Fr Doherty will celebrate Mass in St Eunan’s Cathedral on Monday, August 14, at 7pm for the Vigil Mass of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
After the ceremony, Fr Doherty will give his first blessing and greet parishioners.
The former Highland Radio presenter swapped the airwaves for the altar, and was ordained into the priesthood in Derry in July.
Large numbers of people are expected to attend the Mass. Some refreshments are being arranged for afterwards as people wait to greet Fr Doherty.
Visitors are advised to park at the Hugh Duffy car park, opposite Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, the Cathedral car park and the car park behind the Cathedral.
