Four dead in West Donegal crash

Gardai have confirmed that four young men have been killed in a single vehicle collision in West Donegal earlier this evening.

Shortly before 9pm, emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash on the road between Gaoth Dobhair and Gortahork.

A statement from the Garda Press Office confirmed: “Shortly before 9pm Gardai and Emergency Services were called to the scene of a single car crash on a local road near Magheraroarty, Gortahork. The occupants of the car, four men understood to be aged in their twenties, were pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.”

Local Gardai have confirmed the crash took place in the townland of Glenhola, Gortahork.

How the crash happened remains unclear, however, the scene has been sealed off as Garda technical experts undertake investigations.

It is understood the young men are all  from the local area.
