Footpath needed for Kerrykeel roads, says councillor

CLLR Liam Blaney has called for the construction of footpaths and public lighting on the Ranny Road and Glenvar Road, Kerrykeel.

The councillor told last Tuesday’s meeting of the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District that there was no footpath on the Glenvar Road up from the school meaning pedestrains had to cross the road.

He said he has been calling for a footpath at the Ranny Road for a long time.

Cllr Blaney welcomed the response from the council executive, which stated: “There is currently no funding available for construction of a footpath at this location. This would be suitable for an application to the NTA as part of the Safe Routes to School Programme.”
