I’ve been hanging out on Instagram a lot these days as it’s a brilliant place to find fashion inspiration.
It can be hard to find fun people to follow so this week I’m sharing eight of my favourite fashion Instagrammers.
The merest glance at Momtaz’s colourful Insta feed will explain why I adore her so much. Momtaz is a colour expert, crafter, upcycler, podcaster, happiness facilitator and the author of the book ‘Hello Rainbow’. Her posts are always joyful.
Northern Irish woman Emma serves up daily fierce looks, usually posing seated, outside her house. A former charity shop manager, Emma is a big fan of pre-loved and vintage clothes. Her eye for colour and putting pieces together is impeccable. I love seeing her pop up on my feed.
Art teacher and fashion blogger Jango loves a twin set, but not in the way you’re likely imagining. Jango mixes up bold fifties-style dresses with colourful cardigans and matching tights. Look for her quirky accessorising, she often wears coordinating badges, necklaces and shoes.
One of the stars of the film ‘Advanced Style’, Debra is also a hat and accessory designer. She can seemingly turn anything into something wearable and stylish. One of her posts talks about finding rubbish on the street and turning it into jewellery. Debra’s posts are not only inspiring, but beautiful.
As well as being visually fabulous, Prisla’s reels focus on showing the viewer different ways to wear the same piece of clothing. Prisla is a dedicated ‘outfit repeater’ but her posts are never boring, she finds new and interesting ways to style her clothes. Watching her reels is like getting a little endorphin injection.
Statement sunglasses, bold prints and traffic-stopping styling are the hallmarks of The Vintage Merchant. A passionate charity shopper with an eye for statement pieces, she pulls together eclectic looks ranging from 1940’s sunholiday- in- Mexico- glam. to 1970’s Disco Diva.
Sara will change the way you think about clothes (and perhaps, lettuce). She is possibly one of the most fearless fashionista’s I’ve ever come across. Sara is unafraid to wear trousers with one leg cut off, dresses over dresses over
dresses or headphones as fashion accessories. Her style is not for everyone, but she will certainly open your eyes to how things can be worn, and what can be worn.
As well as being a joyous dresser, Lou is an uplifter. In a world of fake joviality her posts feel real, like she isn’t trying to hide how messy life can get at times. Lou calls herself a ‘positivity rebel’ and her reels and posts definitely spread
good vibes around the Instagram universe. You may initially feel envious of her incredible collection of clothing, but her no – nonsense chat will soon win you over.
